Right on Larry!

Selland '74 is one of the all-time greats!

It's like a 1992 Screaming Eagle...

7/19/74 is exceptionally impressive. A dynamite stand-alone Scarlet Begonias is followed by a sensational set-closing Playin' in the Band, with nose of jammy blackcurrants and subtle toasty oak. As stunning as the first-set is, the second-set jam sequence reveals even greater richness and intensity on the palate, offering up layers of stunningly proportioned, ripe, intense explorations, full body, great purity, and an inner-core of sweet, creamy, highly extracted jamming. The tannin is nearly concealed behind the massive extract and richness. All the component parts are brilliantly focused and in balance. The Charlie Miller sound quality is awesome! This is a spectacular performance that should age effortlessly for 20 years. (99-100 pts)

Cliff - I like your ratings of shows; I'm wondering if you can list the shows you've given 100 pts?

Thanks for posting this; I hadn't seen it. Very painstaking! You guys are nuts. And I think it's really useful, which also makes me nuts :-)

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

That certainly applies to this place.... I'm mad, Cliff's mad, and Cliff makes some people mad as hell, but he knows his GD!

I have never tasted the '92 Screaming Eagle. I'm really not a huge fan of California Cabernets, but I think 7/19/74 is definately much like a "Cali Cult" fruit bomb. In this case the edgyness of the Selland jams resemble the tannic nature (while still retaining its fruit characteristics) of Screaming Eagle.

And my Facebook profile photo is from a Himalaya heli trip in 2000...

Cliff

Will you Email me at skobest@gmail.com

I buried this request on purpose. It has to do with Kochman. I am no longer a part of the Pub. Kochman has completely gone off the deep end and is threatening his own members now. I just wanted some info from you if you would not mind. Thanks
